Georgians – People Who Invented Hospitality

For a very long time, in fact, for centuries, the whole world has known Georgians as a friendly nation. If you ask me, Georgians invented hospitality, as it is. Don’t mix it with perfect service. Hospitality is far different from the tourism service. You can be served well, but still not feel yourself the way you’d feel with hospitality treatment. We have a Georgian proverb, explaining what guest means to us: “Every guest is a gift from God”… And we treat them this way.

Guest in Georgia is the special person, which takes everything best from the host. First of all, greeting. Just try – any Georgian family will welcome you like an exceptional person, with a smile, friendly hugs and the word “Mobrdzandi” (means “You are very welcome to enter”).

You can hardly ever see the warmth like this. Georgian friendship and relationships are distinctive. We’re trying hard to impress you and to share our everything with you. This is why we take you almost everywhere we go. So, you can explore those deep connections we have.

We really enjoy taking a walk with you and show you the places you’d never see this way. We are so proud of our culture, traditions and we would be more than happy to take some time off to travel with you. We never hesitate to tell you everything we know about our ancestors and make you fall in love with this glorious country.

If you need anything, we’re just there for you. Just try to stop locals and ask where to find a particular destination. If they know how to help you, they definitely will. Even if they don’t know the answer, they’ll find someone able to help you. Have you ever experienced the treatment like this?

For us, feast ritual is strongly connected with hospitality. If we have a guest, undoubtedly, we’ll prepare (or order) some traditional dishes to please you. We have special drinks and traditional toasts, which helps us get to know each other. Toasts are served in order. And the table (in Georgian – Supra) has its head – the Tamada. This is the holy ritual for Georgian and we really admire you to stay at our home, to be our guest.

Still, wondering what it’s like to be a tourist in Georgia? This is joy, fun and lots of new friends. So, tell me, when do I schedule your trip to Georgia?

Love, Abersy
